Easter Dresses and kid stuff

April 6, 2010

I winged an easter dress for Elsie and it turned out pretty cute, especially if you don't look too close!

I just took her dress from last year and traced the lines of the top bodice a little bigger.  Then I added some extra for my messy zipper that I totally slopped on there in the back.  The fabric flowers were from various tutorials that I vaguely followed.   I can't seem to follow instruction very well now that I have written my own patterns.  I know this is a mistake!  Alas, I will have to try to be better and learn some new things from other sewers.

I love this picture for a couple of reasons.  The opening of the eggs and basking in the perfect weather is one.  The other is the easy companionship of kids.  They sit close together and do their own thing, barely noticing the other but still having a nice intimacy.  So cute.

And this is Anne at the other end of the bench happily opening her eggs and lookin sweet.  She is wearing one of Aunt Katie's hand me down.  Always very pretty from Aunt Katie!!  It's by a company called Funtasia from Dallas.
