Boy Birthday

September 12, 2010

Cal turned 3 on Friday.  He wanted a great big humongous tractor and we did our duty to get him a tractor.  I did make Space Boy because I had to do something handmade to give myself a good conscience.  He is thoroughly unimpressed by my handmade creations.  I knew this but then comforted myself by thinking Space Boy would look cute on his book shelf.  I guess he was kind of a gift for me?  Space Boy is really fun to make until you get to the part of attaching those wool felt sleeves.  It's worth though b/c they really make the doll better.

He did consent to hauling spaceboy around in the bucket of his tractor which was darn cute.

and then i did a last minute tractor cake …

I made a paper stencil and sprinkled green sparkles on the cake.  the tires and road are chocolate cookie crumbs.  I really like how simple and clean it looks.   AND it was super easy!  Gigi got him this awesome firetruck which we all loved (yes I love it too!).  The 3 year was very happy.
