Anniversary

October 17, 2010

Travis and I celebrated our 10th anniversary last Thursday.  10 years!  It seems like we just met.  We went to the beautiful Gateway Lodge in Cooks Forest PA.  The leaves were so pretty in spite of some dreary clouds.

We climbed an old fire tower to get a good view.  The next 2 pictures are made to photoshopped together so that we look like we are standing together.  Travis hasn't gotten around to doing it and I am baffled by photoshop even though I have been shown how to do it 20 times.  So when it gets fixed, i'll change it here!

Lastly, I made a new bag to take on the trip!  I was going for something more subdued than this.  I feel like all my sewn things look like a crazy mish mash all together.

I have been hoarding this vintage thrifted fabric for awhile.  I love the grey and bright yellow roses.  I realize now that maybe this is a more spring/ summer fabric than I thought!  It is the Taxi Tote from Anna Maria Horner's book, Seams to Me.  I made lots of pockets on the inside and I used 1/4 inch double fold bias tape~ she recommends 1/2 inch and that would have been much easier!  The bag in the back is my Make Your Getaway Duffle.  I love how it looks in my car when I am packing for a trip!  I am becoming a bit of a bag addict especially since I saw all of these adorable bags! Whew~ lots of links in this post.   It will be fun to find yet another bag to make.  Maybe some wool this time?
