Thanksgiving Break Action

November 24, 2010

On Sunday we went to the ICE Atlanta show.  It was so fun!  My mom, sister, 3 nieces, & my own 2 daughters came with me.  I loved sharing it with my girls but the whole "buy me something!" was a little distracting.  I am sure none of your perfectly behaved children ever do that, right?  We were one of the first 50 so we received "swag bags".  Here is my bag haul~

Look at all that cool stuff from such creative people!  Loved this show.  I felt a little craft star struck becuase I met Sarah Neuburger who does The small object.  Here is her card & the 2 ornaments I bought from her…

She was really nice and cool (of course!).  I wanted to meet Ellen from the Long thread and she was right across the way from The Small Object.  Her booth was ADORABLE!  She had her daughter's designs made into colored pencil holders and pillows and lots of cute stuff.  Here is her item from the swag bag and a cute doll head magnet I bought from her booth.

Can't wait to make that chicken ornament!  Head over to her blog for instructions.  Her booth inspired me to make this last night from my Annie's drawing.  Anne just drew a picture in pencil on stretched muslim and then told me what colors she wanted everything to be.

I have been collecting embroidery hoops to make a big display on the wall with my favorite fabric (maybe I'll have that done in January?) but since I have seen this & all that Long Thread cuteness, Anne's drawing was the perfect thing to do away from home.  Just stitching away while watching the kids play and Mom makes me yet another delicious meal.  Love you Mom!

Awhile ago I created some yellow scrap fabric yardage and showed you all my method over on THIS youtube video.  At the time I wasn't sure what to do with that piece.  Maybe another pillow?  Make it larger to make a baby quilt?  I finally decided on a new set of hot...
