Back in November, I participated in a new show (for me but has been happening for about 5 years here in Pittsburgh) called the I made it Holiday Market.
The show went well- it was 2 days which I thought would be hard but was actually really nice since you don’t have to do set up and break down on the same day. Day 2 was so great since I just showed up and started selling!
Here are some shots of my booth~
You can see that I have some of the same old characters that I always make- the elephants, owls, cats, birds and crayon holders. There are also duffles and lunch bags…
mini crayon holders~
and regular size crayons holders (i already told you in the newsletter that I sold 36 of these!)
Some new characters where the backpacks- which sold pretty well, and these cute babies…
The babies are actualy a hybrid form of the baby pattern by Patchowrk Posse. I changed the the body and did felt hair instead. These were realy cute and fun to make and they were the only thing made NOT from my patterns.
Also, the big patchwork pillows were a wonderful draw into the booth even though I only sold one. Sometimes things like this are to draw people in and you don’t have to be so concerned with their sales.
People seemed most interested in crayon holders, organizers, elephants, backpacks, cats, and the cinammon stick christmas ornaments (at only $4 those sold like crazy!) I only sold a few birds and a few lunch bags.
I did have my book there and it was fun to sell some of those in person and be able to talk with people about writing. I loved that!
