Organic Double Gauze Kimono

Kimono by GingercakeYesterday I made the softest, prettiest Kimono.  I have been wanting to try out the kimono looks and finally had the perfect fabric to use!  This is an organic double gauze from Organic Cotton Plus.

I have never sewn with double gauze before but I really liked it.  A couple thing to keep in mind is that it does get wrinkly and frays easily.

This kimono pattern is the free tutorial by Melissa Mortenson of Polka Dot Chair.  You can find  it here.  It is a very clever and easy project!  The hemming took the longest but was really very simple.  I love the casual fit!

and here is one more photo of me looking shocked to be having my picture taken even though I am taking the picture!  haha.   But you can see how pretty and drapey the fabric is in this one, so it is worth sharing!
