Local Yummmm & Thrifted Goodies

October 19, 2010

We have an awesome market near my daughter's preschool.  It opens in July when the sweet corn comes in and closes after Halloween.  Here is my haul today~ It is so pretty I had to take a picture!

Starting from the back, cabbage, brussels sprouts, tomatoes, red peppers, acorn squash, kohlrabi, sweet potatoes, broccoli, dozen corn, butternut squash, & a warty pumpkin (they called it warty, not just me). We still haven't had a frost here which is why I can still get tomatoes, corn & peppers.  The kids also picked a HUGE pumpkin which was on sale for only $6.  That will be in pictures later since I can't even get it out of the car.  Grand total for this was $28!  I LOVE LOCAL PRODUCE!

Karen and I went thrifting the other day since I am hot after a dining room buffet to paint like I saw in this article.  Why do you see these things everywhere until you decide you want to buy one?  But I of course found some things including these (which already sold in the shop!)…
